2007 was the centenary year for the Scout Association. One of the projects I worked on with my Cub Scout Group was based on Anthony Gormley’s “Field” installations.
The Cubs were shown pictures of Gormley’s various “Fields” and then were given clay and the instructions that they were to make 100 figures which needed to have eyes and discernable shoulders then they got on with it.
The children devoured 50kg of clay in an amazingly short period of time and needed little encouragement to find their own style and method of making their figures.
After being dried and fired the figures were in true Scouting style arranged in a tent to be photographed and then found their way outside to look at the spectacular view here.
